Registry related question..

Good morning ladies!!

Here is my question... we are so fortunate that my MIL has offered to watch the baby when I go back to work. This will probably be 2/3 days a week. (DH's work schedule alternates each week.)

My 1st question is---- what items do you think we will need 2 of so that MIL is equipped to have the baby at her house? e.g. a high chair? pack and play? swing?

My 2nd question is--- is it okay to register for 2 of those things? Or do you think I should just register for what DH and I need and then on our own, we buy what MIL will need at her house for the baby? Is it rude to register for what she will need over at her house?

TIA!!

Re: Registry related question..

This is my first and my dad will be watching him when I go back to work in September. I did register for 2 of some things. I have an extra pack and play from my friend so that is staying at my parents. I registered for extra bases for the infant seat. My sister-in-law is giving me her snap and go so I'll leave one with my dad and I'll keep the other. (Ill just get another lightweight stroller when he is out of the infant seat.) I registered for 2 high chairs. A larger one for my house and a smaller one for my dad. I registered for a large swing for my house and a portable one for my dad. I think its fine to register for 2 of these things. Whats the worst that can happen that you only get one of the items and would just have to buy another one. That's how I am looking at it!

Re: Registry related question..

Sorry for crashing the pregnancy boards, I think I'm ovulating and feeling the urge for another sooner rather than later.

I have my mom watching my son who is 9 months now. I didn't register for 2 of certain things but I wish I would have. I got so many "extra" things because most of the big ticket items on the registry were gone early. We wound up doing a lot of exchanging for the second items we wanted. I say put them on the registry. If for no other reason than to get them at a discount after your shower.

Hope that helped.

We did:
A travel swing (mom's house) & regular swing (ours)
2 High chairs
2 strollers

I also bought her a crib, mattress & sheets with gift card $$.

DS does not like the pack n play.
