afraid I may have hurt something..
So in the middle of the night I woke up and found myself on my back and then tried to change positions to my side (even though i am early on in my pregnancy, i have read sleeping on the back is not good)... when I did this, i must have stretched my stomach muscles in a way where then was a shooting pain in the lower right area for about 5 seconds. I hope nothing happened to the baby, now I am so nervous. Ugh I hate this constant worrying, I just can't wait till 12 weeks gets here so I could be a little bit more at ease!

I'm sure everything is fine, try to relax. You can actually sleep on your back until 20ish weeks. Its realty once the baby grows big enough to compress one of your large blood vessels that its an issue. It sounds like when you turned it may have been your round ligament cramping a bit. I get that here and there and I know some of the other ladies had it early on. Hope that helps!

That sounds like round ligament pain and is 100% normal as you approach your second trimester! Most common time to feel it = rolling over in bed. I am sure you're fine but understand your concern - it scared me the first time I felt it too!

yes thats what it sounds like. I also did this early in my pregnancy and it felt like I twisted my ovary off. I also get it sometimes if I get up fast from the couch or the car. Just take your time and from what i understand it may go away. I have learned how to turn over without really feeling that again.

Approaching 23 weeks & still sleep on my back occasionally also. My dr said that if thats the way I'm comfy then it's ok..that if baby/uterus was cutting off blood flow I'd prob be uncomfortable. There are nights when my hips go numb from lying on my side & I have to lay on my back or I will go insane! LOL

Re: afraid I may have hurt something..
For a long time I thought I gave myself a hernia when I twist the wrong way...turns out it is round ligament pain.
PS: it does not go away throughout your pregnancy so just be careful which way you twist while getting out of bed. hth

It is fine if you wake up on your back!
I slept on my back the whole first and second trimester. I couldn't breathe on my back in my third and it was just plain uncomfortable. You will KNOW when you can't anymore.
