BTDT- am I having contractions
39 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. This morning I think I lost a small part of my MP and there was some light spotting. But the spotting has since stopped.
I feel like my stomach is cramping up but I can't tell if its just the baby moving and not having much room and that's why it hurts or if they are actual contractions. Overall I feel really stiff. I took a nap after work and when I woke up I was just soooo stiff- I had to basically stretch out.
Will I really just know when I am having contractions? I feel like I really won't know and will just go on with my day and fight through any pain.

when i had them i had no clue! i just kept saying my stomach hurt. i was having them 24 hrs before i even called the dr

THat is exactly how I am. Although tomorrow I am going to the doctor at 4:30.... I guess he will let me know! I feel so clueless all the time.

I would honestly call the dr if you are not sure. I thought I had to pee and it turned out they were contractions. I arrived at the hsp fully dilated and my son was born 20 minutes later. But, I was only 29 weeks and had no reason to think I was in labor.

perfect description. for me it feels my abdomen is very tight and relaxes after a period of time. i'd call your Dr. though.

Both my labors started with light contractions. They felt like menstral cramps that would come and go. Then they got strong and it was no mistaking what it was.

This is what mine felt like also. It started off feeling like bad cramps and the closer they got the worse the pain was.

Everyone is different. I have had two deliveries and my contractions both times were not very strong until I was pretty far into labor and then they get really strong at the end.
If you haven't felt this before you may be in early labor. I was in such denial with my first because it wasn't that painful. I got to the hospital at 8cm and had my epi at 9cm.
