Another food question!
Tonight I went to the supermarket and got a bag of fresh express light green salad. I had no idea that it was on a do NOT eat list. Now, after consuming it, I am worried. Does anyone regularly eat these salads or am I the only one who didn't think they were a problem

They say that bagged salads can be contaminated with listeria. of course I research it and find that fresh express has had problems in the past with ecoli. I already ate it so I guess I will sit and worry now!

Basically anything can carry food borne illness. You just can't worry about everything.
Also, I have never heard of not eating bagged salad and eat it all the time.

Thanks, you girls always make me feel better. I can't believe I still worry at 36 weeks. I am so ready to go back to subway and large greek salads! I think I will disable my internet for the next 4 weeks

I just ate bagged cole slaw... I don't think it's going to cause any problem. Usually, those items are recalled once bacteria is suspected. That item should have already been pulled off the shelf by now.

I'm sure when you get a salad at a restaurant it comes in a bag... Sometimes you just gotta suuck it up and live on the wild side!

so wash the lettuce before you eat it! the chances of you getting listeria from something is so rare. not something to worry about.
ETA: i would rather eat lettuce that's been washed and has nutritional value than a big mac with fries from McDonalds, that holds no nutritional value.
