C section ...? Can the dr. Give you anything
Before hand to calm you down...my first c section was an emergency and I was a little out of it..who know what they gave me..my second I thought I was going to die walking into the OR...now my third ( which is 8 weeks away).. Is giving anxiety, sleepless nights, I'm just freaking...do you think they can give you something before hand to calm you!

I don't think so and I've had three c-sections in two different hospitals...and I've flat out asked! 
I had a panic attack during my first and I think they gave me something after she was out. I was terrorized for the whole 2nd pregnancy about another c/s. I was just like you too...thought I would DIE in the hospital right before. I asked the anesthesiologist (LIJ) and he said no he couldn't do anything before the baby was out, but to just say the word directly after the birth. In the end, I talked myself through it and didn't need any extra meds. For my last baby I asked again...thought I'd try again since I was in a different hospital (NSUH) . Again, the anesthesiologist told me no, but that after the birth the "bar will be open!"  Again, I made it through without the meds.
What I found helped was bringing a small photo album of my other DC and having my DH flip through it for me once I started getting anxious. Also, I had to be in constant conversation so I wouldn't focus on the paralysis and the surgery.

Before my first c/s, they only gave me something to drink to calm my stomach, since I had eaten before, not knowing I'd go into labor a few hours later.

for me it was no sedatives before the baby was out. I did tell anaestesiologist (sp?) that i want something to relax me right after the baby is out. I ended up not needing anything, but valium was ready to be added to IV. gl!

They gave me something to calm me down before they started. I was having a panic attack and couldnt stop shaking.

what did they give you
I have no idea, but I asked for something and whatever it was, worked. Mine was scheduled, not an emergency c/s if that makes a difference.
