UPDATED!! SO MAD AT HOME DEPOT!!!!!
my carpet for the nursery got installed yesterday while my dad was here...
I was so trhilled because DH is planning to move the furniture in tomrrow...
well, when DH got home he realized something looked funny on the carpet, and IT'S NOT ATTACHED TO THE TACKLESS IN LIKE 3 DIFFERENT SPOTS AROUND THE ROOM!!!!!!
he lifted the carpet right up off the padding...
so i had to call them at 630 last night, when they couldnt do anything about it, to tell them...
i said i expect them back IMMEDIATELY (by saturday) and that this should be priority, because they messed it up...
well, she responded "well, mam, everyone wants to be a priority the weekbefore Christmas"  
I said, "If your guy installed the carpet CORRECTLY the first time, I wouldn't be asking, so sorry!"
and the guy even tried to blame it on the carpet padding that "we chose" meanwhile, it's the padding that we were TOLD to buy with the particular carpet we got.....
They better take care of this Saturday...all my nursery furniture is in my dining room, and we're having Christmas!!!!!!
UPDATE: So, Home Depot got in touch with their installer this morning, and I heard directly from them...they were MUCH more accommodating and understanding then the lady I dealt with last night and said they would be here FIRST thing tomorrow morning...we are their first stop.
and absolutely to the poster who said I should be upset w/installation company...I am, the guy is a moron IMO for leaving a carpet like that, as if that would fly and never be noticed, I mean, come on!!!!
but I was so mad at HD for the "priority" comment, like how could they even compare me to a client that hasn't been installed yet?
bottom line...they will be here tomorrow, and I will be over his shoulder making sure everything is done perfectly before he leaves!

UGH that's awful, you have every right to be mad. And I can't believe she said that to you about everyone wanting to be a priority, so rude! Hope they come back ASAP and fix it!

Honestly, don't be mad at home depot. They subcontract the work. They don't even know what's going on half the time. I would call the company who came directly.

while it's true that they subcontract the work, i have to say i'd be mad at Home Depot too...they are the ones you paid for this service, and they are responsible for ensuring you get what you paid for, whether the lady you spoke with on the phone had anything to do w it or not. she also shouldn't be giving you an attitude when you call w a problem. the work may not be done by an HD employee, but i feel that they SHOULD be on top of it, as they are the ones who contracted the work and accepted your $. they should be a little more sympathetic and apologetic.
i'm sure it'll get done and you'll be happy w it but that's def an annoying thing to deal with especially w a baby on the way.

Oh I agree... What I meant is that she should be more mad at the actual company who installed and would prob get a better response from them... Either way its a sucky situation (we actually were going to go through HD as well, but when I googled the name of the actual company for reviews, I wasnt impressed so we put the whole thing on hold...)

Since they subcontracted the work, is it possible for you to find out who the company is that installed the carpet and deal with them directly? I'm sorry you had a bad experience, my mother also had a terrible experience on a kitchen cabinet refacing job she used HD for and the customer service person she dealt with was just as unhelpful as yours.

great news. even though they are idiots for leaving it like that in the first place, it's nice to know at least that they will make you the first stop and get it fixed right away.

the guy's name is Anthony that did our installation...
just i guess to recommend make sure that you just check all the corners and against the wall that it is nice and secure...
carpet's beautiful otherwise
