I am 6 months and hosting for 14 adults. But i love hosting and my DH is a brilliant help. And i know my friends will all help with the clean up which is the part i really hate!!
ETA you are very good to take it on at 8 months. You should be putting your feet up!!

I thought about it but decided it was not a good idea at almost full term.
If I were you I would ask others to help out. You do not need to be on your feet all day in the kitchen.

I'm 35 weeks have a toddler and having Xmas eve! My husband is a big help with the cooking though. It will be 22 and 6 kids!!

I agree with this! Make it a potluck, I'm sure everyone will understand given that you are 8 months pregnant! Assign sides, desserts, etc and make it as easy as possible on you
Just the thought of hosting that large of a party at 8 months makes me exhausted

Either ask people to bring dishes or have them come early and help.
I hosted Thanksgiving (to be fair I was in my first trimester but I was so tired) and it went so much better than I expected b/c everyone pitched in. My mom and sister helped me cook and my mom and other sister cleaned up. My SIL set and cleared the table. My DH ran all the errands.
Don't be superstar. Ask for help.

i'm doing the same thing at 36 weeks! i'm going to make it really easy and make a lot of stuff before hand so i only have to heat food up. I'm also taking a lot of shortcuts by going to the italian specialty store and buying premade stuff (garlic bread, vodka sauce etc)

I am hosting Christmas Day. That is my holiday and I don't mind. I will be 19w. I am preparing whatever I can early so Christmas Day, it will be heating it all up. Like the pp's said, delegate and maybe order a tray or 2 or something? My motto is, it is my family and not the royal family. It doesn't have to be perfect
