Ultrascreen number results
Four weeks ago a got a call from the nurse saying my numbers were good and everything was great...So at my app't last night i asked for the specifics of the results...they were 1 out of 320. Doctor didn't seemed concerned...but after i left..i was thinking..is that really OK, or should i be concerned...i mean its not 1 out of 10,000!!! Also, not sure if some of that number is based solely on my age of 39. What do u think? Maybe i'll wait to get my afp results and take it from there.

Your age is defintitely a factor in that stat. I think that is a great stat for 39!

Your age is DEFINATELY a factor. I am 36 and my numbers were 1 in like 3000 with my first my ratio was 1 in 10000 i was 34 with my dd. For your age i think the ratio is like 1 in 24 ..Your numbers are really really good.

your age is a huge factor in that number.
Once again the reason I do not believe in the test.
You can't compare your number to someone in their 20's. Your Dr said the number was fine and that is based on others in your age range.

Please- take it from me since I just went through this last week- your age is a HUGE factor. I am 40 and my numbers came back horrible. I had an amnio and everything is fine. Keep in mind that you numbers will always be skewed by your age.

that is why I never ask for specifics or numbers.
My dr. told me I passed and my score was an A++++++ with baby #1 - that was all I needed to hear. I see so many people here on LIF knowing such detail of numbers and things about their pregnancy I never knew...glad my dr. doesn't give such detail or I'd drive myself batty over it!

thanks all. If all comes back ok with 16 week bloodwork..i think i will just let it go..and just pray for a healthy baby. Also, i know the sono part was good because i asked the tech when she was done...she said wasn't supposed to tell me (but she did)...she said everything looked good.
