Induction to C -Section?

So Im 39w and 4d. I had my last internal last fri and I was still only 1 cm dilated and cervix only about 40% effaced. Baby is head down but still floating high!

So now its just a waiting game for me. My doctor wont let me go past 41 weeks without inducing me. He said I have a 50/50 chance of needing an induction based on the condition of my cervix . There's obviously no guarantee the induction will work- which means I may have to get a c section.


Any woman get an induction that didnt work and and still end up needing a c section?

I had a failed induction which led to a C. I never dilated past 1.5cm. Plenty of women has successful inductions though!

I had a filed induction at 40w3d. I never dialted past a finger tip. I was on cervadil for 12 hours, then cytotech(?) for 4 hours and nothing. Ended up with a c-section.

Just about everyone I know IRL that got induced ended up with a c section. That's why I had the conversation with my Dr about skipping the induction and just doing a section. I have issues though that they will not let me labor for a long time

I had a successful induction. I was slightly dilated and didn't need cervadil. They started the process around 8am and DS was born at 9:10pm.

My water broke but i was not dilated so I was given cervadil to induce. ended up with a c section because I never dilated past 1cm after more than 12 hours of labor and because of DD's erractic heartbeat. so it was considered a failed induction even though my water broke on its own.
BUT I know at least 4 women I can think of off the top of my head that were induced and were able to avoid a c section. so induction does not always equal eventual section.

I had an induction and although I was fully dilated, ended up having a c section(after pushing for 3 hrs) b/c the baby was posterior.

i had a failed induction but i wonder if it failed due to my other issues (had HELLP Syndrome which i was on magnesium for, magnesium helps stop contractions, so kind of an oxymoron)
they induced me with 5 rounds of meds and i ended up needing an emergency c section when DS' heart rate started dropping

Yes. I was dialated about 1.5cm and 50% effaced. Induced because of GD. Labored for 27 hours... dialated to 10cm, pushed for 3 hours, ended in c-section. She was face up and didn't want to descend. If she was face down perhaps things would have went differently... we'll never know.

I was induced 2 weeks early for medical reasons. I never dilated past 4-5 cm. I ended up with a c-section about 22 hours after my induction began.
