wwyd- epoxy?
Okay so my boss called me. My office is putting on a new roof. She said she got a call from the office manager (OM) about the contractors putting on the epoxy. Now today i heard Bryan (kind of like our maintenance guy) tell the OM that the 2 pregnant people should not be there tomorrow for it. I guess the OM talked to the contractors and they said it's nontoxic and green. THey said they can show anyone literature about it. So my boss said to come in tomorrow and if it gets too strong, then me and the other girl can go home. REALLY!?!??!?!
so i get to schlep my butt getting ready in the morning and dropping my son off at daycare only to walk into work and hope it's not bad. She said she's not sure what time they're going to start the glue process so it might not be until the afternoon. So to come in and work a few hours. But if i walk in first thing in the morning and the smell is overwhelming, then i can go home.
Meanwhile today at the end of the day i left early. I started feeling like my throat was hurting and i started getting really hot. My coworker told me to go home and that i was all red... that i didn't look good.
I'm so ******. I feel like the position they're putting me in is so not fair. All for what... so they don't waste the 1 day paying me?
Then we have to walk in there and wonder when is okay to say enough, feeling like we can't leave too early because how will it look to everyone.
I'm just so ******. I told my dh that (and i'm so not this person) god forbid there is the slightest thing wrong with our kid... i will sue the butts off them!!!!!
so wwyd? would you go in and see how it goes? would you call your boss back and say no way?

Wow, that stinks.
Is there any way you can work from home?
I wouldn't go in and its kind of tacky that your boss is putting you in that spot!

Sorry, but there's no way I would take the chance. I agree with a note from your doctor and take the day.
