Lets talk wine..

Any of you have a glass occasionally when pregnant? I know that It's "ok" to have occasionally and my Dr. has given me the ok in my past pregnancies but I'm still on the fence about it. I did Have a 1/2 glass with my first child and It took me about 4 hours to drink at a wine cheese party

I cant... I just cant... I wouldnt even have a sip of pumpkin ale that Ive been waiting for all damn yr I would feel sooo guilty afterwards

I know that it has been said that glass a week is fine especially in the later weeks. Oddly, more people have been anti caffeine than anti drink anything like wine.

I have had a sip of beer here and there... Would do the same with wine if I wanted it.

But larger quantities (1/2 glass to a full glass)... With DD I waited until month nine

i'd LOVE to, but i don't. Not worth taking the risk. I'd never forgive myself if something went wrong or was wrong...

i can do without it for the 10 months. I have the rest of my life to drink it, so 10 months is nothing!

I had a nice big glass at Thanksgiving, and it was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

I have thought about it but at this point I am 4 weeks away and I figure I'll just hold out and wait.

I'm afraid once I have a glass I want another I didn't with DD, I was debating on new years to just have a small amount. Not sure yet if I will.

I had an occasional small glass of wine while I was pregnant.

The amount of wine that would actually get to the baby is negilable....but really it is comfort level, if you are going to worry yourself sick then it is not worth it. To me the go ahead from my doctor was enough to put me at ease

I haven't. I've had one sip of beer since I got my smiley on my opk. I don't miss it either. I personally wouldn't feel right about myself.

I have had 3 glasses of wine so far at 23 weeks. I treated myself. But as another lady said i took 2 or 3 hours to drink them. And they were always with a large meal. (3 separate occasions)
I am not worrying about it. My doc said it was fine. I plan to have another at Christmas.

I haven't had any and I don't plan to but man, I miss my vino. My EDD is 3 weeks before my b-day and I already warned DH that I am drinking some wine on my b-day no matter what

I've had 2 glasses so far & I'm 21 weeks. I got the ok from my ob & I'm comfortable with having a glass socially every now & then; other than the upcoming holidays, though, there unfortunately aren't too many social events on my calendar lol

I had some wine with Thanksgiving dinner but it was served my MILs style..mixed with gingerale . The one thing I'm not comfortable with is having it early in the pregnancy. I have absolutely no scientific reasoning for this, it's just my own personal comfort level.

In my first pregnancy I had a glass of wine TWICE...

But I drink so infrequently that I've made it through this pregnancy with no wine. I did try a sip of wine on Thanksgiving. It was a bottle of wine that my Dad gave DH and I for our anniversary this July. He didn't know I was pregnant yet, and so I didn't open it. But I did want to taste it at Thanksgiving since the family tried it---being that my Dad passed in October...it was kinda a "special" wine for us all to share on a holiday meal.

I just had a half a glass last weekend. It was great!

With my first pregnancy, I had a glass at 39 weeks & went into labor a few hours later.

Maybe THAT's why is hyperactive!

I would - later in the pregnancy - I am still in the first trimester so I wouldn't now. However, DH is VERY against me drinking any amount of alcohol while pregnant, so I can't.

I personally wouldn't in the first trimester and now that I'm in my second, I don't really want it even though I was a huge wine drinker before. I've had a couple of sips of DH's sangria and that's about it.

I think it's fine to have one glass once in a while but one glass doesn't cut it for me so I figure I'll save the calories for something yummy

What I can't WAIT to have is a bloody mary from legal seafoods. My mouth is watering just thinking about it

At about 25 weeks or so I had a glass of sangira at a wedding - it was soooo good! And a few weeks ago I had half a beer at a friends house. I am usually a wine drinker, but for some reason while pregnant, I have no desire for it. That being said, if I wanted it, I would have a glass here or there.

I have had a half a glass twice during this pregnancy. It is delish, but honestly just makes me very tired. I never got the ok from the doctor, but never asked.

I had one on vacation. I plan on having a glass at Christmas, and a glass of champagne on NYE.
