My sister lost twin girls at 6 months,on Mother's Day 2007. Her OB said that it was an infection that caused it and there was no way of telling that she even had the infection until they had delivered. The only sign she had was that she was sick so she went to the hosptial and then she went into labor while she was there. Since then she has had two beautiful children. One of them was born prematurely and spent alot of time in the NICU, the same nicu that her daughters passed away in. She never got to hold her first daughter Kayla because she passed away a few hours after she was born. It was amazing though to see her second daughter Hannah when she held her, because all the nurses couldn't believe how as soon as they put her in my sisters arms to pass away all of her vital signs and breathing got better because she knew her mother. My entire family will never forget Kayla and Hannah and we talk about them with their brother and sister all the time.

Losing a baby at any stage is so heartbreaking.

yes, while anyone can experience a premature baby and plenty of people (including some I know) can have babies at 45 year old, my concern for them is the number of pregnancies Michelle Duggar has had (those that lead to children and those that ended in miscarriage, even before this baby). Going through all of that must be very hard on the body and I'm not sure her body can take it any longer. She is the mother of 19 children and a grandmother of 2 (and I'm sure there will be many more). She needs to be around for her children. Josie's birth seemed to be risky for Michelle's life.

Question for those who knew of someone who lost a baby late in pregnancy...do you know the reason why? It seems like Ive been reading too many of these stories lately and is making me nervous
I lost a baby at 19 weeks, it was just one of those things. There was no reasons that could be found medically, the only clue was that the placenta was "lacy" so I went on anti clotting drugs for my next pregnandy. Exactly a year after my mc, I gave birth to a very healthy beautiful baby.
It could happen to anyone...
