Maternity Leave/Unemployment
Does anyone know what happens if after you are ready to come back from unpaid maternity leave, there is no position available for you at your current job?
Would you be able to collect unemployment at that time?
ETA: I dont qualify for FMLA because my company employs less than 50 people. PLus the reason for my position potentially not being available is that my firm may be merging.

Do you qualify for FMLA? If you do, your company has to hold your position for you for 12 weeks...

You would definitely qualify for unemployment. Just make sure to disclose that you were on disability for how ever long after your last day of actual work. You should have no problems.
Hope that your position is not eliminated and this is a non-issue!
