We like Siobhan too but so many people mis pronounce Seamus' name that we think no one will say it right lol
I love the name Siobhan too but noone ever pronounces it correctly

DC #2 was going to be Niamh, but it was a boy!

My friend who came here from Ireland at 15 is AoifA (confirming prior post of pronounciation" Efa. Her sisters are Ciara (Keira) and Orlaugh (Orla.)
donegal, I'm guessing from your comment that no one would get Aoife right, most get your DD's correct? And it's pronounced Mayreed? I'm curious because if I have her name right by sight, I wouldn't know to spell it the way you do. And the boy's name as well in terms of both spelling and prononciation! I say if you love the name and you have another girl, go with the name you love!
I'm surprised no one mentioned Kerry yet. That's one of my dd's name but it's spelled with an i instead of a y. A sore point for her as a little girl. Every pre personalized item in the stores was spelled with KERRY. I deprived her of the childhood right to have a license plate on her bike!

Kassidy is one of my favorites but I haven't sold it to DH yet.
I'm also loving Bridget and Molly. If only I could get DH to agree on anything.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions everyone. We both come from big Irish families so a lot of these names have been used by family and close friends but there are a few new ones that have been added to the list.

NO ONE gets DD's name right.... they get it after they get to know her, but people i am just meeting --- forget it. i get "Mayreed", "May I Read-- like it's a question...haha, Marie, Muh-reed, etc. It's Muh-raid (rhymes with parade). Some Irish people pronounce it Moy-rid, which is also correct (it varies on people's dialect) but the first way is more common and I like it better. People seem to be better with DS's name, but not when they see it spelled... lol
