When to have a baby shower?
My friends have offered to throw me a baby shower at a friend's house and have asked me to pick a date. If you could pick the perfect time in your pregnancy to have a shower, when would it be? I'm trying not to have it last minute but I also don't want it too early. Any advice is appreciated!

I don't think you can ever pick a perfect time. We planned mine for 28 weeks which is a bit early and I missed it due to complications.
Most people have theirs around 32 weeks though

I am having mine at 32 weeks. I think that's a good time because ill be far enough along but hopefully I won't be at the stage where I'm super uncomfortable.

Mine is at 30 weeks. I'm glad it's a little earlier. I won't be too big and uncomfortable to enjoy it

Mine was scheduled for 32 weeks which I thought was perfect....but I ended up delivering the day of my shower  . But generally speaking  , I think that is probably a good time.

I had mine at 30 weeks, I think 30-32 is a great time, you are far enough along but not so far as to be uncomfortable - plus it gives you some time to sort through and set up your stuff, return/ purchase registry items etc.

Ideally I would like to have mine btwn 30-32 weeks but I'm traveling back to the east coast so I'm prob going to have mine @ 28 weeks.

I would say 32-34 weeks. . .
I had mine at about 34 weeks
At about 36 weeks I was sooo exhausted, I would have hated to deal with the shower aftermath LOL

I think I was 33w and honestly I was so tired at the end of it so if I had to pick I would sa 28-30w is a good time.

I think 30-32 weeks is the perfect time.
Mine was planned for 34 weeks and I gave birth right before I turned 32 weeks. I had a 2 week old when I went to my shower
I really didn't want it much later than 32 weeks because I knew I'd be exhausted, plus you still have to run around returning doubles and purchasing everything you didn't get at the shower. That way you have enough time to get stuff done.

Eeek... Reading some of the responses here makes me nervous... The date I had planned on (not set in stone) would make me at the end of my 33rd week... Looks like I should move it up

I will be 36 weeks because I had to coordinate with 2 other pregnant family members, and none of us wanted showers immediately after the holidays.

I would pick 32 or so weeks. For my first, due to some health issues with my mom, we ended up having my shower at the end of 36 weeks. I was *huge* and pretty uncomfortable.

I say 32 weeks. Like PP's have said this gives you time to sort through the gifts, set up and return any duplicates before you are too big and uncomfortable.
