Help Scheduling Shower Out Of Town

Both mine and DH's families live upstate which is at least 7 hours away on a good day. I am having a shower for each side of the family but I dont want them on the same weekend and too close together. I already know I am having his families shower Feb 19th, I will be 28 weeks. When do you think is the latest I should have my other shower knowing that being that pregnant the ride will probably be at least 8 hours since Ill have to go to the bathroom a lot. I was thinking the end of March but is that too late to travel that far for such a long ride? I will be like 32/33 weeks. What are your thoughts, this is my first pregnancy so I am lost.

I think that timing would be fine. Don't worry about stopping to pee- that doesn't take too long

I was in the same boat as you when my parents planned my shower. I urged my mom and MIL to have just one down here, but my great aunts and extended family upstate wouldn't travel down here and my mom didn't want to exclude them --- so I had two showers.

I gave myself a cutoff of 34 weeks because I didn't want to risk going into labor up there instead of where my midwives are here. Driving up wasn't too big a deal because once I'd hit 20 weeks I was already stopping to use the bathroom frequently -- no big difference from 20wks to 34wks for me!
