Working moms ?

When does everyone intend to stop working? My original plan was to work until the very end but at 30 weeks I an so tired and having trouble making it thourgh the day. I don't know how I am going to make it to 40 weeks.

With my first (no complications) I worked until 3 days before I had him (I had him at 39 weeks, 2 days).

With this pregnancy, I was in the hospital for a week at 22 weeks and now I'm home on bedrest for an undetermined amount of time.

Everyone is different... I didn't make it passed 27 weeks without having to go on bed rest (and that was with ONE baby)... this time around I'll be out at 26 weeks - the latest.

My co worker made to her due date and had her baby the next morning.

I worked right up until I had my son last time (worked through Wednesday, and woke up Thursday morning in labor). I was 4 days past my due date when he was born. This time, I am already 3 days past my due date and am planning to go to work tomorrow and every day until I go into labor! For me, I work in a special ed preschool as a music therapist. It's an active, fun job and it keeps my energy up. I love going to work every day, pregnant or not. I know that, for me, if I were to stop working early, my energy would drop and I'd get lazy and then stop enjoying my pregnancy because slowing down would make everything catch up with me. I know I need to keep active until the very end. But, as PP mentioned, everyone is different. And every pregnancy is different. And every job is different. You have to do what is right for YOU and your body and your baby. If your body can't do it anymore, I think it's important to listen to that.

I worked a full day on a Monday and had my son Tuesday morning at 930 am

Apparently I was in labor all day at work. I was in a bitchy mood lol

I got put on Bedrest at 28 weeks.
I was planning on working till 37 or 38 weeks. Guess it was not a realistic goal for me.

I will work until my scheduled c/s, unless I have complications and have to stop sooner. With the twins, I commuted until 33 weeks and worked from home until the day they were born. Try to deal with it as long as posible----it's worth the extra time you'll get with the baby!

I was planning on working up until the end but since I got clots I was put on no commuting so I am lucky enough to work from home for the last 10 weeks.

i am due on friday with my first and I intend to work up until the very end. my job lets us take 6 months off for maternity so the longer i stay now the longer i have with my lo.

With DS, I worked up to 38 weeks PG. With this one, I'm already having a hard time at 24 weeks. It is mainly due to my hours. I work overnights full time. I was able to get more sleep when I was pregnant the first time. Now that I have a child already, its alot harder.
I plan on going part time very soon, so that might help. I also have placenta Previa, so we will see if I have any complications with that. So really not sure yet!

With DD I worked until my due date. The week or two before, I worked from home.

I am only 13 weeks now but I plan to do the same; work until my due date. I am a lot more tired this time around though, so I hope to make it that far!

With my DS I worked til @ 1 month before he was born and plan on doing the same with this one. With my job it is hard to bend and lift, change diapers in a small bathroom and sit on a step stool, etc... Other co-workers say that its impossible once you get bigger.

With my DS, I worked to just about 40 wks. My DD was on a Monday. I worked until the Friday before. I ended up having a c/s that Tuesday after my DD.

I am trying to do the same this time around. I do have the option of working from home this time though. I have the same length commute this time, but I'm working for a different company.

I want to hang in as long as possible so that I can take all my time off with the baby.

With DD I worked until 37weeks and the next day I was put on bed rest. This time I am not stopping until the doctors says so or I go into labor.

I am tired from standing 8 straight hours at my job and taking care of a toddler also.

I'm planning to work as close to the end as possible. About 39 weeks or so. It will depend on what the doctor says, especially since I have a fairly long commute to work.

With DD, I worked on my due date and then took leave. I had a feeling she was going to be late anyway and came 4 days later.

This time around I'm having twins so I know I will not make it the whole time working, so it's up in the air at this point. We will have to see what the Doc says is ok...

I am a teacher, we finish school on June 22 and I'm not due til July 8th. So I hope to work til the end of the school year as long as everything goes well.

I am hoping to work till the very end because if I don ;t I will have less time at home with baby. I have had some complications though, luckily no bed rest. My job could be active or not active .., mostly office work ..i really hope I can go up to the last day. I am a 45 min each way commute/ hospital though which concerns me.

With my first I worked up until the day I delivered. I plan to do the same with this one too.

I was due with DD on a Friday. I was teaching in Bushwick, Brooklyn, but luckily I had a carpool buddy so at least I wasn't doing the commute alone.

I saw the doctor on Monday night. He decided that we should do a c-section the next day. We ended up having the c-section on Wednesday since the hosp was booked on Tuesday. So I woked up until 4 days before my Due Date basically.

I get 12weeks I'm working until 37, taking my 2 weeks vacation then having c/s at 39wks, then I have 12 weeks off until august 1st I'll still have 1 week vacation from then until 11/1

I was due Nov 30th and planned to stop working Oct 31st.
Well, my son was not onboard with his planned due date and wanted to be born in Sept, so I worked up to and including the day I delivered. Even went out for dinner after work and drove from Massapequa to Ronkonkoma in labor (I did not know that I was in labor).
When we have another, I don't know what will happen.

With #1 I sent my last email at 12:30am, went into the hospital at 8 that morning.

With #2 my last day was Friday, I delivered Wednesday.

Now already having 2, I'll probably stop at least a week in advance this time.

With DD I went to work on Wednesday and my water broke Thursday morning at 1:30. I plan on working as long as I can this time too. I get 6 months mat leave and since the baby is due late May I would LOVE for my mat leave to go through Thanksgiving (if he/she doesn't come early!).
