Maternity cloths

I am only a lil over 6weeks, but i dont know where to start with maternity cloths. I do not need them now & i understand i wont need them for a lil while. BUT i see so many sales and cute things. Would it be crazy to buy things for the future? If so, how would you even know what size you are?

I'd start with a belly band (Target sells for $16) to stretch out how long you can get away with wearing regular pants.

I ended up needing maternity pants at 10 weeks. I just tried on pants at Destination Maternity and whatever fit, I bought. I'm now 22 weeks and still wearing the same clothes I purchased at 10 weeks but I'll need the next size up in another month at the rate I'm growing.

my advice would be to get the belly band and wait it out until you need maternity clothes--then start out with a few items to see how fast/slow/big/small you are growing.

don't worry there will still be lots of cute stuff in a few weeks

When I was 8 weeks I went to Old Navy and started to try some things on. About 2 weeks later I bought most of my maternity clothes. It was my 2nd pregnancy and I was showing almost right away, and regular clothes were really annoying my belly!

The first thing I got was maternity leggings and the low-rise maternity jeans. Then by about 14 weeks or so I was in full blown everything maternity!

I agree with the PP to start with a BeBand (I got mine at Target). They're inexpensive and will keep you in your regular pants longer. However, you'll see that a lot of girls have mixed reviews on them. It's going to be what works for you. I, personally, loved it and used it until about 17ish weeks.

As for maternity pants, shirts sizing, you normally would buy the same size you are in regular pants. So if you're pre-pregnancy size 6, you would buy pregnancy pants size 6. So far, I've bought all my materninty clothes at Old Navy and Target. I felt both were reasonably priced and I've had no issues.

I'm 18 weeks with #2 and still wearing the belly band with my regular pants. I have maternity pants from my first pregnancy but they're still way too big. With #1 I switched over around 21 weeks and it looks like that will probably be the case this time too.
