Question about fetal movement before labor

I posted this on Parenting but figured I would check here too, in case anyone has experienced this, or their doctor mentioned it. I am currently 39.5 weeks- I'm due Thursday. I can't remember if this was the case with my last pregnancy, which was less than 2 years ago! But today and yesterday I have noticed a "slowing down" of the baby's movements. I am definitely still feeling movement numerous times throughout the day, but the movements are like slower and not as big, if that makes sense. I've been reading around online and it seems that it is common right before labor to notice a decrease in fetal movement. Just wondering if anyone else REALLY near the end is experiencing this, or if anyone's OB mentioned that this might happen right before labor. TIA!

I noticed this around 39 weeks as well, had a soon at 38 weeks and all looked well. At 40 weeks and 2 days, I went for another soon and noticed the level of fluid was a bit low and could possibly be why I wasn't feeling much, together with the anterior placenta. I was induced later that evening.
