sharp stabbing pain under rib cage?
In the middle of teaching, I started getting SHARP stabbing pains...right under my rib cage, mostly left side...
it hurt to breathe (teaching math to 12 year olds was a great time lol)
and it lasted a while, til the end of that class and through most of my lunch the period after...couldn't get a full breath in
i felt like i had to do shallow mouth breaths
is this normal????
could this be baby kicking up into my ribs? last sono I had (last week) baby wasn't even with feet facing my rib cage, so Lo would have had to move in order to do so...but is this how it feels??? I would have never expected a sharp pain like that lasting for so long...
im just always afraid its something more serious...but if that's just LO playing the xylophone on my ribs, lemme know! at least it will be explained pain...

i had the exact same thing w/#1. the dr had said hot compresses & tylenol but it didn't help at first. i had gone to the ER for monitoring to make sure it wasn't contractions & it ended up being a pulled muscle. The pain was excrutiating as i remember. Good luck & def try the hot compresses & tylenol if you can

thanks so much!!! I took tylenol and I'm in bed...haven't felt it in a few hours but figured it won't hurt!!!

I had it earlier in my pregnancy and Dr said at that point it was probably not baby....more likely gas or acid reflux

yeah well thats why it's so confusing right now...
I'm 29 weeks...so I'm sure it's possible to be feeling baby up there now, but at the same time, I doubt it could be contractions of any sort
but gas/heartburn I feel like would always be a possibility...
too much gray area with alot of these pains!! I hate gray! lol
