Heartburn
This is the first time in my life Ive had heartburn. THis stinks! Every time I bend over I feel like Im going to throw up.
What is safe to take for this? Tums is ok, right?

I feel your pain! I was taking 1 zantac every day for months. it really helped me!

I think I'm the only one where medicine, especially tums didnt help or made me feel worse. I need to have cereal with milk, or a milkshake or ice cream.

Honestly, TUMS doesnt really help me either. Im thinking about asking my Dr. for an alternative when I see him next week. I kind of just tuff it up and deal with it

I LIVE on smoothie flavored Tums when I'm pregnant. They are sooo yummy!! For me, they work. I'd give them a try and then if they don't work, maybe ask your doctor for another option.

my dr had me on pepsid ac or zantac, both the lowest dosage. I had an alarm set so i could take it in the middle of the night. If I didnt I could not eat in the am

tums helped for a couple weeks but then I started to take Pepcid...once a day usually works but sometimes I need to take the 2 a day which is the max...

I used to take tums. But the aftertaste was making me gag. Plus the midwife warned not to take too many bc over use can lead to kidney stones..
I took zantac for a while but that stopped being effective. Now im on pepcid. Its the best. Once a day and if i still get heartburn a few hrs later i will either drink milk or take one to two tums.

Mine has definitely been getting worse. My doctor said pepcid and zantac are ok. I've been taking pepcid and it's working much better than the tums. Feel better!

I take Tums and they help, but I find that chocolate milk really, really works.

I have been taking Tums, but just found out from my OB that Zantac is fine to take...so I am totally switching to that! Its sooo much better!

I've never had heartburn before pregnancy either and it was bad for a few weeks and I tried natural remedies like milk at first, then tums, then zantac. I didn't feel like anything really helped me! I just tried avoiding spicy foods and eating a lot in one sitting...that helped a little.
I haven't had it much in the past couple of weeks  I hope it stays away, I can't decide if it's worse than nausea!
