I went to the high-risk doctor to follow up on what they thought might be an amniotic band in Baby A's sac. Turns out, it's not that and everything is fine with the babies BUT... my cervix was dangerously short. They sent me over the hospital right after the appointment where I found out I was having 8+ contractions an hour. Yesterday morning I went in for the cerclage and now I'm still here in the hospital.
On Tuesday they're going to see if they can decrease my magnesium (which is stopping me from having contractions). If so, I will be able to go home hopefully for Thanksgiving, but I will be on strict bedrest at home for 1 week, then we can see about increasing activities by 1/3 each week if everything goes okay.
I'm here at the hospital on bed rest for now. It's funny because they say I'm not on "strict" bedrest because I can get out of bed to use the bathroom (rather than bed pan or catheter) but it feels pretty strict to me. I have to stay in bed and lay on my side and I'm on all sorts of meds.
Need your prayers that these babies cook A LOT longer! I'm only 22 weeks, 1 day.

I know how much bedrest sucks. I was admitted to the hospital at 24wk0d due to being 1 cm dialated and my cervix extremely short. I stayed in the hospital on bedrest on all kinds of medicines to stop contractions until my twins were born at 27wk5d. I was only allowed to get up to use the bathroom and to shower 1x a day. Once my water broke at 27wk1d I was put on magnesium (awful ) and couldn't get up at all.
Definitely listen to your doctor's and stay in bed! Your cervix could still lengthen if you stay off your feet.

i was on magnesium for a few days before and after i delivered for pre-eclampsia. they wouldnt let me see my baby in the NICU while i was on it. it was a nightmare and i felt like my face was on fire. you are doing everything you can to keep those babies cooking!! and great news that it wasnt an amniotic band!!
