question for teachers

When did you let the parents of your students know you were pregnant?

My prinicpals have known since I was about 8 weeks along because a parent in the school had found out I was pregnant so I had to tell them early. I asked today when I should tell the parents of my students and they said it was up to me, but to give them a heads up first so she can send out a letter with the name of my substitute. I'm only 16 weeks pregnant now and I teach Pre-k so my students get out like the second week in June and I'm due May 5th so I will be out until the end of the school year and just come back in September. So when would you tell?

Whenever you feel comfortable. I know a lot of people tell at 12 weeks, or maybe when you start to show.

For me, one of my students outed me when I was only 8/9 weeks!!!!!! I was bloated and gaining weight in my belly and kids kept asking me. He came in one day screaming, "you're pregnant!" and all of them screamed yaaaay congrats!! hahahaha very annoying! I teach middle school though.

Edit: I wanted to wait until at least 12 weeks.

I teach 2nd grade and around 13-14 weeks read the book "our teacher is having a baby" and then asked them if they knew why I decided to read that book to them. They were so cute and super excited. They still are. So they were the ones who told their parents.

My friend just told and she is almost 20 weeks.
