So Scared
Hi ladies,
I am 4 weeks and 4 days. I want to be so excited for this pregnancy but I've been having some bleeding and need to be monitored to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago because I was spotting in between my cycle, which never happens. I went to the hospital and my beta levels were at 784.
Just this past Monday, I went to the doctor due to more spotting {bright red, but no pain}. A yolk sac couldn't be detected, which I'm not surprised. But the ultrasound tech had issues viewing my right ovary.
The doctor called me today with my blood results. My beta levels are at 7,400 but she said that it should be higher. She also said my progesterone was low. It's 4.1 and should be at 5. I'm so nervous. I have another appointment this Friday for more blood work and another ultrasound.
I guess I'm just asking for some prayers and good vibes, and any similar experiences. Thank you so much.

Just a question though - for a beta of 700+ there's no way you were 2 weeks pregnant at the time. You would normally be 4-5 weeks pregnant for a beta like that. So two weeks later (aka now), you'd be around 6 weeks pregnant.
Do you know when you ovulated? Maybe they're measuring from conception date?

I thought my levels were kinda high too for 2 weeks. My body has thrown me for a total loop hole because my last normal period was October 15th. Technically I should have been ovulating around October 29th- yet that's when I got a BFP  I'm super confused because I have somewhat average 28 day cycles.

i had spotting too early on and they had me drawing blood 3x in the beginning to make sure everything was ok.
i am 14 weeks now, still nervous bc i still spot.

Thank you so much ladies. I had a few good cry sessions since this morning and I'm feeling a little better/hopeful but I'm going to remain a nervous wreck until I have some definite answers.

i agree, there is no way possible that you are 4w pregnant now if you found out 2w ago. you would really have to be around 4w to even test positive, especially with a beta that high. i would guess you should be somewhere like 6w pregnant now.
also if your beta was 740 2 weeks ago, if it was rising appropriately it should be much higher than 7400 2 weeks later. furthermore, with a beta of over 1000 you should already see a sac in the uterus. so at 7400 for a uterine pregnancy you would def see a sac by now. not being able to see your ovary shouldn't matter, since the sac should be in the uterus.
thirdly, progesterone should def be at minimum over 10. did they put you on suppositories or any other supplementation?
im sorry i dont want to sound alarming and i have heard much much worse cases end up all right.. but you do have a lot of warning flags that something is amiss. the dates seem extremely off and you should see something on the sono with beta levels that high... there is something strange going on. i would insist that the dr. see you ASAP because if it is ectopic and your beta is that high it could cause issues very soon. i that everything ends up alright!!

The thing is that when I went to the hospital at what I thought was 2 weeks, they didn't see anything in my uterus {or tubes}. And they didn't really go over the HCG levels with me. I was leaving for vacation literally in a few hours and that's what caused alarm for me to even go to the hospital. They just wrote me a prescription for prenatals and told me to follow up on my levels.
Another hurdle I had to cross was that I didn't have a oby/gyn because mine recently retired.  The doctor's office I went to on Monday is new and they never questioned my beta levels from 2 weeks ago. Everyone seems to keep going by my last normal period (10/15). And they still didn't see anything in my uterus {or tubes, I'm assuming they checked} as of Monday.
Ughh, I just feel so sick, like I'm waiting for something tragic to happen.

ok well if there is confusion from hospital to dr's office, things may actually be better than they seem. i def wouldnt lose hope, but def push for the new doctor to get you some answers!! i dont know that a sono could pick up an ectopic so early either.. whats confusing is the beta levels dont match what they are seeing on the sono and its odd that no one seems concerned about the fact that your beta on 11/1 was in the 700s and now its in the 7400s but still nothing on the sono  . anyway i really hope it does work out for you, like i said, much weirder things have happened!! good luck!!
