Who commutes on the LIRR daily? How are you doing? I'm 28wks on Friday and it's really starting to get to me.

Me! I am 13 weeks, so other than my normal "I hate commuting" feeling, not too bad- yet. I also did it with my 1st and it def got tough towards the end. Just take your time walking, use the escalators. And when it get to much, that is what the "mental health days" are for

ETA- can you work from home one day a week to give you a break?

Me! I'm not looking forward to the 3rd trimester on the train. I'm 19w now and it's ok so far as long as I get a seat. I'm seriously considering driving in to work for my last month (I work in Queens). But I'm not sure yet.

I was commuting until my clots but it was really getting to me. Wasn't so much the train ride it was the 2 subways I had to take.

My boss offered to let me work from home a day a week and then My Dr took me out at 30 weeks.

I'm a PA, so working from home is not an option, unfortunately. After Thanksgiving I have 4 full weeks straight. I'm totally dreading it.
Good news is after Christmas and New Years I have 1 full week, then my last day at 36wks.

I commuted to work with my first pregnancy, from Levittown to Brooklyn, but I drove.

I don't think I could handle the LIRR! I was constantly having to pull over to yack! And the smells on the LIRR! OMG they'd have totally gotten to me!

I give you ladies a LOT of credit!

I don't take t he LIRR but I do take the PATH train from NJ to WTC. More like a subway set up and there is never a seat in the morning commute. Not looking forward to the third trimester at ALL!

I'm a bit over 19 weeks and I got my first seat offer today I was pleasantly surprised.

I am on the LIRR as I am reading this at 36 weeks and feeling I constantly fidget as it is impossible to get comfortable. I am going to try to work up to my due date so I have longer with However I hate coming home at rush hour people have no manners they push into my belly to get on the train first and sometimes I have to stand for a couple of stops until a seat is available. My worst fear is my water breaking on the train Hang in there some days are easier than others.

i commuted until the day before i got put on hospital bed rest (32w). my last ride home on the LIRR was when a train de-railed in the tunnel and messed up the whole schedule. my very last ride i was smoooooshed in the doorway of the car for like 3 stops. finally there was a seat available and luckily everyone noticed the very pregnant women looking like she was going to die and gave me the seat.. it was horrible. i would've continued to commute as long as possible but i ended up delivering at 33w due to pre-eclampsia.

Im at 36 weeks and take the LIRR.. The LIRR I dont mind at all-- its the subway that is annoying especially bc my stop does not have an escalator or elevator and then I have a 5 block walk to work from there =(
Oh and finding a parking spot at the train station (today I had to drive back home and walk bc there were no spots left!!)

Amazingly it is not that much tougher at 36 weeks than it was at 20 weeks-- but it does get tiring especially since I work 11 hour days once you take into account the commute!

Definitly try to take advantage of elevators/escalators if you can! And if you can change your schedule at all try to go in later/leave later to avoid the rush hour craziness.

I take an 8:15 am train and its not so bad, I take a 6:11 out and again, not so bad.

I'm 14 weeks and so far it's not so bad. I do find myself winded going up the subway and LIRR platform stairs. The only other thing I don't like is on the ride home at night, I feel like I have restless leg syndrome. My legs ache the whole way home and I have to keep shifting positions. Depending on how I feel by third trimester I will likely just work from home.

I live in NYC so I take the subway. I hate it!

I usually get a seat in the morning (the ride is 35 minutes) but rarely get one in the evening. I actually had a mild panic attack last week and had to get off the train early and calm down before getting back on!

And I am only 12 weeks! I hope it doesn't get much worse, though I know it will.
