I had my first appt. yesterday...
and it was quite interesting! I thought I was almost 10 weeks along, since I got a positive test about 4 weeks ago, it turns out I am only 6 weeks along. My hormone levels must have been high because the ultra sound tech saw two egg sacs in there! Only one of them had a heartbeat and fetal pole, so they don't think the other one is going to make it, but boy were we surprised! Has something like this happened to anyone else and did the other embryo live? I am just so happy that the other heartbeat was strong. This too explains my lack of symptoms, but now I am probably going to start feeling it in the next few weeks. The doctor wants to see my again in a week to double check everything.

i had betas on the higher side (197 at 13DPO, 479 at 15DPO). i had two implant (we did IVF and put two embies back in). at my first sono we saw one sac with a heartbeat and one other sac no heartbeat. i have a healthy DD from that pregnancy. the other sac never developed, it was blighted ovum.
if you tested positive 4 weeks ago there is absolutely no way you could be 6 weeks pregnant right now. it is nearly impossible. did your doctor say you were 6w based on the size on the sono or based on your LMP?

They are saying it based on the size in the sono. Could it just be measuring small? I tested positive on October 12th, so technically that means I should be at about 7 or 8 weeks? I think i ovulated on October 1st, but my periods are irregular and my last one was September 8th. I thought that sounded way off. What should I ask at my next appointment?
ETA-We did not do IVF or any fertility treatments.

If you ovulated later and tested positive on October 12th, you could have gotten a positive very early. Assuming that, let's say you were 3 weeks and 4 days or so pregnant on October 12th, and that was just about 5 weeks ago (tomorrow), you would be over 8 weeks now.
Could they have been telling you the baby's gestational age (meaning from day of conception) instead of ... what's the other one called? Fetal age? I forget, but the one which is normally used which is from your LMP or ovulation date which would add ABOUT 2 weeks to the gestational age.

According to my calcuations the age would have been yesterday 9 weeks 4 days, they said it was 5 weeks 6 days. The sonogram just looked like a little blip, but it was beating, it did not look like a baby yet or anything.

I was going to say the same thing. If you're 6 weeks and tested 4 weeks ago, that would have been at 2 weeks. You can't get a positive at 2 weeks so it sounds like something is off on the calculation. When are you going back?

I ovulated on the 14th and my dr told me I'm between 6-7 weeks so I don't know how u could be too
