Bedding question......
If u don't mind sharing- how much was/is your nursery bedding? I'm kind of obsessed with a certain bedding & DH almost fainted when he saw how much it cost today. So what is "normal?"

For DD1 I bought the glenna jean coco 4 piece set that cost almost 400 dollars Lets say DH almost $hit himself over the price. I used alot of gift cards to purchase it on my own.

The set we are looking at is pretty simple...only around $169...and to be honest I wonder how much of it is needed. They don't recommend that you use the crib bumper anymore because it increases certain risks at any age. Most times you can buy the sheet seperately, and most times the comforter is more for decoration then anything else.

I'm not getting a set. I think it will be a waste bc I don't plan on using the bumpers, the comforter won't be used other than decoration.
So I will get a few sets of sheets, a crib skirt, and a nice blanket.

A lot of sets let you buy seperates --- so the sheet that matches, hamper that matches, valance, and a throw blanket, etc. So really you could bu yseperates and still stick to a specific theme, without the bumper that totally isn't necessary! This is the way to go IMO! I hope more bedding companies offer everythign as seperates in the future, especially as more and more awareness about the safety of bumpers becomes well known.

We're doing the same. The set I was looking at only had the fitted sheet, the comforter and the bumpers. We don't want the comforter or the bumpers so I just registered for the fitted sheet and the blanket. I was so surprised when I first started looking how expensive these sets are

Luckily my bedding comes separately so I didn't need the whole thing. But, I got the skirt, 2 sheets and a coordinating play blanket (no bumper) and it was like $300. The bumper alone was $250 , but we chose not to get with all this AAP talk.

ITA. I am thinking of forgoing the bedding set this time. With DS I did hang his comforter on his crib when he wasn't in it but this time I just think it's silly to spend $$ if I can just get separates!

mine was originally on the more expensive side (for me) but I got lucky and it went on clearance plus i used the 10% registry completion to save even more...i got my bedding at pottery barn kids...it ended up coming out to $260 in the end but originally it would have been $380...i was willing to spend $380 but i am so glad it went down to $260...that is for 1 crib sheet, the bumper, the crib skirt, the toddler quilt and 1 small pillow sham...
i love pottery barn kids bedding and the set i got is organic and it's so soft, i saw a few sets in bru and target that i thought were cute but they weren't as soft and i didn't think the quality was as good as far as softness so that made it easier for me to justify getting it....
eta: i splurged on things for the room but with other things i've been pretty modest like with the stroller...so as long as everything you pick doesn't cost a fortune i think its ok to splurge a little if you really like something, at least that is what i tell myself

Mine was $30 from Marshalls
Honestly, I wasnt going to get bedding. For me it would have been a waste since I only planned on using the sheet and maybe crib skirt but I found mine at Marshalls and figured it was worth the $30.
