Earliest to have a baby shower?

What would you say would be the earliest time to have a baby shower? Would 30 weeks be too early?

i wouldnt go earlier than 30w if its just a regular singleton pregnancy that isnt high risk.

i'm planning on having mine in the 32nd week bc i'm high risk and family has a history of preterm labor. i think anything 30 wks is fine. since holidays are just around the corner, i think it could be earlier if you do a combined holiday&baby shower party too.

Thanks everyone. I want to have it at 30 weeks because I dont want to be too huge at the party and uncomfortable but I didnt know if that would be too soon.

I was 29 weeks at mine...

eta: Mine was before Thanksgiving because of the holiday concern... plus I was ENORMOUS at my shower, if I had waited, I would have been so uncomfortable.

Mine was at 30 weeks. I know a lot of people who have had it around then. I think the earliest I've heard of is like 28 or 29 weeks.

I had mine at 30 weeks. I thought it was the perfect time to have it. Would not have wanted to do it much later!

I had 2 and one was at 27 weeks and one was at 28 weeks. I missed the 2nd one because I was in the hospital.

Not a single person thought it was too early. and for me any later and we would be dead smack in the holiday season.

Do whatever works for you and your family.

I had mine at 24 and 25 weeks with twins. I was glad that I felt good.

i personally wouldn't do it before 32 weeks... at the absolute earliest.

Yea, thats exactly what Im afraid of. I am 16 weeks now and not showing yet but I dont know how I will be at past 30 weeks. Is this your first child?

Yes that was my first child... I carried all in my belly and it was enormous by the end. At 29 weeks, my guests were betting that I would be going before Christmas because of my size.

I am pretty sure I am having mine at 32 weeks. I don't want to have it in February because of the weather and most likely my shower will be in the city which is a bit of a commute for us.

I was 28 weeks at mine because after the date, between my mother and I, we didn't have one weekend day without something until I was 39 weeks along. It worked out fine. Nobody thought it was too early.

I had mine at 28wks due to the holiday season. Whatever is convenient for you, thats when you should do it. I didn't feel weird having mine early. Im glad i did due to all the snow storms and out of town guests.

I just had mine at 36 weeks and honestly I think it would have been better to have it a few weeks earlier maybe like 32, 33 weeks

It really does not matter.

I had my 1st at 32 weeks.

I had my sprinkle at 29 weeks.

No difference between the 2. I didn't want to wait until later... just in CASE I went into labor early... and also, I liked having things set up.

Probably 30 weeks, which knowing what I know now, is what I would have done. I was scheduled to have mine at around 32 weeks and what do you know I went into preterm labor and ended up delivering on the day of my shower . So, if I could go back, yeah 30 weeks definitely sounds good, lol

With the boys, I had mine around 28 weeks. Part of the reason was travel plans of guests. Also, I knew I'd probably have the babies early and wanted to have time to get everything set up.
