fetal echocardiogram
I went for my Level II today and was really excited to see the baby. He/She (we're  ) was sleeping in breech position with his/her back facing outward. The tech said she couldn't get a good measure of the baby's heart and referred me to get a fetal echocardiogram. I'm flipping out wondering if there's something wrong with the baby. Anyone have any experience being referred for this test because of the baby's position during a sono or of what they're looking for?

With DS I had to have one bc they couldn't get the right view of the parts of the heart, it was fine and he's perfectly healthy 5 1/2 yr old! Don't stress!

I'm having one on the 18th! Just a precaution as a follow up to a previous high NT scan result that showed no other indications of anything wrong!
As a follow up to your level 2, I don't think you have any worries!

I had to have one since my baby has an omphalocele, small hernia by his belly. It was not bad at all. The woman who did it was wonderful and gave us great news that all was well with his heart.

I had to have one for DS and he is perfectly fine! He was being stubborn during the sono and wouldnt turn so they couldnt see all the ventricles of his heart. Had it done and all was well!!

I had to get this done because my baby didn't flip either. Did everything but flip and I posted exactly the same thing in June. I had to go twice so you could imagine my stress. Anyway baby was fine and baby was in the correct position as well. Had my LO been in that position for the level 2 the fetal echo could have been avoided. But at the end of the day for all my stress, tears and prayers, I got some awesome 4d shots of my baby. Please try not to worry... Everything will be ok
