7 Week Old Still Won't Sleep In Crib
My 7 week old DS will NOT sleep in his crib or pack n play at all! He will only sleep in his Fisher Price Rock N Play or his swing. It drives me INSANE b/c I feel like he is never going to go in his crib. Totally unusal for me b/c DS1 was in his crib and did beautifully from day 1 home from the hospital...
Is this typical for a 7 week old? If not, how do I get him to sleep in his bed? And if it is, when should I try the crib again? I really want to quit stressing about this.
Thanks!

Try putting him in his crib while he's awake so that he gets a feel for it. This should help him get comfortable with the environment of a crib.
I remember that my DS started sleeping in his crib right around 7-8 weeks. I started with naps. He was swaddled so I'd swaddle him on my bed and then walk to his room and place him in the crib. I was lucky though bc he'd literally fall asleep while being swaddled.
The napping in the crib really helped once I transitioned him to his crib for nighttime sleep. I moved him out of his cradle and our room into his room and his crib at around 3 months.

Re: 7 Week Old Still Won't Sleep In Crib
My 7 week old is still sleeping in the rock-n-play as well, I wasn't even going to think about transferring into the crib to at least 3 months, maybe even longer because of her terrible reflux. I wouldn't be too concerned about it yet. When I do consider the transfer I am planning on starting with naps and then moving to bedtime.

Do you mind if I ask.......... How long does your DD sleep at night between feedings?

If it makes you feel any better DS slept in the swing (in motion no less) until he was exactly 8 months old At that point we transitioned him to the crib (through a lot of tears) and he is now 19 months and loves his crib and sleeps great in there! He will transition when he/you are ready! Good luck!

It still is fluctuating a little depending on how bad her reflux is during the day. On a bad day she goes 4 hours between feedings and on a good day she can go almost 8 hours. This is so much better than my dd ever was. When I was pregnant my reflux was terrible and I could only sleep elevated so I can only imagine how the little ones must feel when they are laying flat.

Re: 7 Week Old Still Won't Sleep In Crib
My sons both slept in their swings until they were 4 months (DS #1) and 5 months (DS #2).
I started by using the crib for naps. I think for the first 10-12 weeks, you do what you have to in order for them to sleep. I don't think you start up any permanent bad habits.

Re: 7 Week Old Still Won't Sleep In Crib
We are currently going through the same thing. DD will be 10 weeks tomorrow and up until this week would only sleep in her RNP and the swing. RNP every night. Everytime I tried the cosleeper her arms would flail all over. it was too big of a space for her. Last week I started having her sleep in her cosleeper (on her side) during naps and this week started ay nights...last night she stayed in it all night for the first time. Pervious nights I had to put her in RNP in middle of the night. Try slowly transitioning during the day and then at night.
