Pap while pregnant?
Anyone do this?
My OB did one yesterday and I was a bit hesitant about it but he explained to me that it was minimal invasive. Instead of using the brush, he used a cotton stick. It wasn't any ore painful then a normal pap and I haven't had any bleeding, spotting or cramping since. So I guess I can stop worrying ??

I had one at the beginning of both of my pregnancies and the first pregnancy I had an ob/gyn and this pregnancy I have a midwife and both did a pap on the first visit.

I have an appt next week (it was originally a gyno visit until I got my BFP) and I think I will get a PAP since I am due for one. I never heard it was unsafe and I am sure the dr. wouldn't ever do anything that would put you or the baby in harm.

Gettign a pap is standard when you are PG unless you had one within the few months prior to your BFP.
It will in no way hurt the baby.

I had one and did have bright red bleeding afterward. That was at 12 weeks and I'm now 16 weeks and everything is fine

Yes. I believe this is pretty standard. I had one done in the beginning of my pregnancy as well.

I dont remember if they did for my first but they did for my 2nd and this one too. I didnt even think anything of it.

I had only at the beginning of my pregnancy. I did spot the next day which scared the crap out of me. He only did it because I was overdue for one.
ETA: I am now 12 wks 6 days and baby is doing fine

I had one at week 28! I had no idea it was even going to happen until the nurse brought me in the room. It was nothing different and no spotting or cramps.
