Meaning past the "reasonable" age?

A friendly discussion with a stranger at the park yesterday had me curious.

For me, DS never took a paci, even though I tried when he was an infantChat Icon

The bottle he held onto for longer than average, but I didn't really care that much...as long as we brushed religiously. So, I don't really have an answer, because I never had to get rid of the paci. So, I guess I would say paci?

How about you?

Well, since DD was the worst bottle feeder ever - 2 hours to complete a 6 ounce bottle Chat Icon
I will vote for the pacifier as long as it was contained to a specific area - for example just when DC was in the crib - not all day long everywhere.

I guess I would say paci as well.

DS is the same age as your DS and gave up the paci between 3-4 months.

He is having a hard time giving up the bottle. We have it down to nighttime but, it's been quite the battle.

I too make sure he brushes religiously and do not let him take it into his crib with him.

I feel like people look at me when DS is still on the bottle and I feel it's more socially acceptable to use a binky.

We have her addicted to both so I really can't say.

I guess the paci- it would make my life easier if I could ditch those friggin' bottles!

I would rather my DC be addicted to the paci. If they are hooked on the bottle, that is the only thing they will drink out of so it becomes a problem if, let's say, you are stuck without a bottle.

If they can get off the bottle, they can still drink. The paci is something that does not affect their ability to eat or drink. And many times it can be slowly brought down to where we currently are with my DD... she ONLY gets her paci at night. In fact, she has to throw her paci back in her crib when she gets out.

So, long winded answer is that I would rather a paci addiction! Chat Icon
