Mmm... not sure. My ex just got married this past weekend and I *almost* bumped into him the day after his wedding because I was having breakfast with his cousin!!
For awhile there I was sure I was the one that "got away"... don't know how he would feel about it right now though.

Hmm... I really don't know anymore..
I had quite a few serious ex's (hey - I'm older than a lot of you  ) I will say that up until the point I met DH, I know in 2 cases I was probably their "one that got away"...
but subsequently I have heard that one of them is now engaged ... and another is just a confirmed playa  who will NEVER find the 'right one' (or shoudl I say someone who PUT UP with him like I did) .. so I guess they are over me

Well, I'm friends with a few of my exs, and I know that a couple of them definitely think of me as the one that got away...funny how those are the same guys who broke up with ME!

The one who got away - he sent me a note a few years ago and told me that if our timing had been different we'd most likely have been married.
As much as I loved him I don't think we would have gotten married - DH is more of a man than he could have ever been although the guy was a real sweetheart.
He is now married and I hope very happily - he deserves it.

At least two ex's believe that I'm the one that got away. I left many guys because they weren't ready for a relationship (just wanted to play the field), and once they got older, they realized what they were missing. One, especially, was heartbroken when he found out I was engaged.
And of course there are ex's that are thankful I'm went away... as I am of them...

I KNOW I'm the one who "got away". He still cries to people we are mutually friends with. That was my last serious ex before JT. Other than that, I don't know really know what the others think. It was always mutually ended.

I'm pretty sure my ex from high school would see me as the one that got away - he used to tell me all the time that I was the kind of girl guys wanted to marry... I think he just wasn't capable of connecting with people on that high of an emotional level - I heard he's been married twice and divorced already.....

I think after we broke up my ex thought of me as the one who got away. It doesnt really matter now though as he died 2 years ago.

I've had several lesser boyfriends admit they were stupid and treated me badly and let me go. WHATEVER.
The major ones-not so much. It was a learning experience for both of us. I don't keep in touch with any of them.
