Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Has anyone seen them? I LOVE their Christmas music and have always wanted to go see them but for some reason or another we weren't able to. They're going to be here in Raleigh, NC in December but tickets range for 2 tickets $100-$145.00. Is it worth the money?

Oh my gosh....you HAVE to go. I've gone every Christmas for the past 7-8 years or so, and the show brings me to tears every year.

Aside from actual Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, it is my absolute favorite holiday tradition. It is the most beautiful show I've ever seen. If you want details about the show, I'll tell you, but I don't want to spoil it if you don't want them. I could probably write an essay about it; I just love it so much.

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

its an amazing show... i went 2 years ago... we had floor seats at NVMC but i dont remember what we paid... its like seeing a show rather than a concert, there is an entire story that they tell through all of their songs...

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Really? That's great!

They're here for only 2 shows on 12/4. For floor seats it's like $122.00 total for 2 tickets after taxes/fees, etc.

Are floor seats better than in the "stands"? We had floor seats where the show will be for Elmo and we had a hard time seeing over people's heads?

Is this something my DH and I should go to by ourselves or do you think the kids would like it?

DH and I have sat in the very last rows, and we've sat on the floor. The show is amazing wherever you are. However, last year, when we sat on the floor, it was so much more emotional. The guys in TSO are so passionate about what they are doing and what they are saying that being so close and actually being able to see their faces added such an extra emotional "oompfh" to the performance.

there were younger kids when i went... but personally, i probably wouldnt pay for a kid to go... its like taking them to a really loud rock show... if you think they would enjoy it then sure... but even my mom was like... oh Ang, this is really loud lol... like a lot lounder than a normal concert... our ears didnt stop ringing for like 24 hrs lol

Maybe I'll make it a date for my DH and I and leave the kids with Grandma since they're like non-existent. Chat Icon

Yes - definitely go! DH & I have gone every year for the past 3 years & LOVE it! It's amazing. We usually sit pretty high up, so I can't comment on which seats are better; but like the pp's mentioned, I'd definitely leave the kiddos home. It's LOUD!

Have fun Chat Icon

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

TOTALLY worth it! DH and I went two years ago, and I got tickets for us to go again this year Chat Icon I wouldn't take the kids though- while it is an awesome show, it is still a concert with VERY loud music and an extravagant light show. Make a date night out of it!

We have gone for the past three years - we will be missing this year and it's really awesome. So worth it to go. You will have a great time.

2 years ago, we were given two tickets to see them. Hands down one of the worse shows I have ever been too. We left after 30 minutes, along with most of our section.

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Definitely go! I went twice (and would love to go again, and again, and again...lol). Once I was on the floor and once I was in the 'stands'...it was better on the floor. Like a PP said, you could really see the passion in the musician's faces.

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Dh and I have been to see them twice. Once at Madison Square Garden and another time at Nassau Colliseum. Madison was better seating in a row and better overall view. Nassau we sat on the floor and could not see anything.
Both shows those were awesome though!
