How many times a day
does your dog bark? Not individual barks that stop but barking episodes.
My dog barks constantly throughout the day. We have tried prozac, xanax, behavior therapy and everything in between.
I was just wondering if I have unrealistic expectations.

My dog rarely barks. He barks if we leave him out of a room and he wants to come in but it is usually just a bark or two not an episode. He will bark if he hears someting foreign outside or if our neighbors dog is out but again it is a bark or two. The only time he had barking episodes was when he was experiencing separation anxiety shortly after being brought home from the shelter.

Achilles really only barks if someone is at the door knocking or if we leave and he doesnt want to be left alone, but even those times are rare. He does this weird howl/whine thing that is really cute and does that every day.

Riker only really barks if someone knocks on the door or I get him really riled up with play. Otherwise he's pretty quiet. (Except for some really annoying whining sometimes.)

At my old house which was a busy location, my dog would have bark sessions that would be set off by noise...kids, mailman, cars, landscapers, etc. He would bark for a long time after whatever it was that set him off.
Since I have moved to a quieter location, my dog doesnt even bark once a day. Clearly it was the noise that was setting my dog off.

my two dogs rarely bark. They will only get into those barking sessions if they are outside and the neighbor's dogs also come outside. But as soon as we call them in they will be quiet inside.

I can't really assign a number. It depends on how many dogs walk by the front door sometimes! Or if my husband is rough housing with her and getting her all worked up.
It's definitely not constant - situational, and really she is less likely to bark if she is home alone than she is if we are home. It's like she has to let us know when she sees something.

All the time!!! If a fly goes by the house, they bark. So annoying! 
We've tried spraying them with water, using that machine that makes a high pitch noise (which they just ignore now), yelling. Nothing stops them.
Forget it if another dog walks by.

I have a pug/beagle mix who barks A Lot! Nothing helps. We have lots of windows so she sees everyone and every animal in the neighborhood. We also have a doggie door and she runs outside to bark a lot too.

We lucked out with our dog. She rarely barks, but when someone does come to our door she goes crazy. 
ETA that we usually keep our front door closed, so she can't see what's going on outside and all the people passing by. But when we leave it open, she sits and watches through the storm door, and she barks more often.

Chloe doesn't bark much, but if we leave the house and leave her in the crate she cries and screams like someone is killing her!

He barks when DH comes home and when I come home, but just a couple of happy-Yeah! you're home barks. If he is riled up and playing he'll bark also, or if he sees a friend. But he never barks for no reason.
