Measuring 3 days eariler than I thought?
So as many of you know I had an ultrasound done yesterday because I was bleeding. Anyway, it showed that baby was measuring 8wks 5days. I really thought I was 9wks 1 day yesterday. And when I had my first ultrasound at 6wks it said I was measuring 6wks. Is it normal as your pregnancy progresses for the measurement to be a few days behind?

I dont know, but I'm having the same problem. I posted about it and another poster mentioned she had the same issue and all is well.

I really should have asked the tech, now Im worried. How many weeks are you? How much earlier are you measuring?

I'm 2 days earlier than I thought.
I'm not that worried about it actually. They come when they're ready IMO.

yes, totally normal. drs would not even blink, unless you are a week or more behind.

With my first DC, I always measured ahead of schedule. I think they base the dates on the average length, so i don't think it means anything is wrong. And sure enough, my DS is 95th percentile height now!

i was about 5 days behind the second to last sono, then 4 days later I had only progressed 1 day. the heartbeat has been strong & increasing so the doc said not to worry but of course im beyond worried.

I was measuring a few days behind in the beginning too, but it caught up later on.

when i was pregnant i measured anywhere from 5 days ahead to 3 days behind. when you are early it all depends on the person doing the sono and where they place the little marker and draw the line for size. i know the exact day i conceived since we did IVF and there was never any concern from the doctor on how i was measuring.

A lot has to do with who does the measuring and sono and which machine. My ob and re measured me differently at the beginning and they said it was not a big deal. My re did his own sono but at my ob's office a tech did it.

my first apt he was measuring behind, 2nd on time, later on he was ahead. I've had a lot of sonos because of bleeding. 5 months now, no more spotting, measuring just on schedule. :)

The same thing has happened to me in the past. The tech just said that sometimes it is hard to get it exact. She would remeasure a few times, and take the average of a few measurements. Each one was off by a day or two. I guess there is room for human error there!

as long as it is close stop worrying about a day or two. The measurements aren't exact. Each time I go I measure differently.
