Crib mattress positions...BTDT?

How long would you/did you keep the mattress at the highest position?

Re: Crib mattress positions...BTDT?

We lowered our son's mattress when he started pulling to stand, which was (I think) around 8 months. Our crib has 4 different mattress positions. At first, we lowered it 2 slots, then when he was almost 18 months, we lowered it to the last slot because he put a leg over the crib one day during naptime and we were afraid he would climb out.

Re: Crib mattress positions...BTDT?

Because the railing on our crib does not go down, Im assuming its going to be more difficult to pick baby up once the mattress is not on the highest level anymore...

Thanks for the input!

By the time you need to lower it, the baby won't be so much of a blob anymore Chat Icon so they kind of "help" you lift them by that point. I'm on the short side (5'4") and I have no issue lifting/lowering my son now that it's on the lowest setting. My preggo belly is starting to get in the way when I'm laying him down in it, but it's definitely doable!

We have 3 settings on DS's crib. We lowered it the first time when he was sitting up and he was taller than the highest height. We lowered it to the lowest when he started pulling himself up. Now he well towers over the top but thankfully he hasn't attempted to climb over yet!

Re: Crib mattress positions...BTDT?

Pretty sure with dd it was at the highest till about 8 months or so. I'm very short.4'11" and when it went to the lowest she was pretty much standing so it wasn't a big deal only time I have a little problem is when she's sleeping and I'm reaching over to lay her down but I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm 8 months pregnant and shes over 2! Lol its no problem you'll be fine!
