Cheap and SAFE convertible carseat
Hi girls My parents are insisting they buy convertible car seats for their car because they will be watching the babies 3 days a week. These will be carseats # 5 and 6. So needless to say I don't want them spending alot of money!
we have the graco myride and britax roundabout now.
Can you recommend a SAFE and cheap No frills car seat for their car?
Thanks so much!!

cosco scenera. $45-50 at walmart or target. We bought one for travel, and now its in my mom's car. Safety rated just as well our britax and my mom makes fun of me to no end on spending hundreds on my car seat and DD is just as happy and safe in her car.

Re: Cheap and SAFE convertible carseat
I just ordered the cosco scenera for $39 from walmart.com. And if you ship to store there is no shipping cost. This is for my aunt who watches dd twice a week. Think I might order another for my mom for an incase of emergency situation

I was going to suggest a Cosco as well. Or Safety 1st. You can find both for under $100. We are in the same situation, my parents want to get a seat for their car but I don't want them spending a ton. I will suggest these to them too... only downside is the weight limits aren't very high (up to 40lbs) but I guess it's to be expected with a cheaper seat.

I was thinking the same thing about the weight limits....I wonder when the average child hits 40 lbs???

Re: Cheap and SAFE convertible carseat
My child is over 4 and is not 40lbs yet, so they last a while. However, your child has to be an inch or so from the top of the shell to actually safely still fit in it. So if they are a really tall 35lbs, it might not work. Not sure how big of a shell that seat has.
