Warts on toddler's hand?

Last week I noticed a wart on DS's hand (he's 25 months). Chat Icon Today I noticed that it seems to be spreading, and there are 4 warts. Anyone have experience with this? Do I go to the ped, or dermatologist? Is this treatable so that it won't recur?

Are you sure they are warts-- maybe eczema? Are they reddish, or skin color?

Skin color raised bumps, and they look hard. Chat Icon

I just wanted to say - I had warts (2) when I was young. Maybe like 10ish. I had them frozen and then they were scraped off. Didn't hurt at all.

Re: Warts on toddler's hand?

My DD did. We mentionedit at the pediatrician when we were there for a well visit. Was just a hard blister. She recommended thuja ointment, its homeopathic. She really wasn't concerned, she said they normally just go away on their own. We used it for a few weeks, and then it started getting worse.

We don't need a referral so I made an appointment with the dermatologist. It was a couple weeks away, and it was really getting NASTY :( so I wound up using salicylic acid. It was gone within 7 days. She said to keep applying for 1-2 weeks to make sure virus is gone.

The dermatologist also recommended sticking duct tape on it and leaving it there for a while. Another thing she says works is apple cider vinegar.

Hth!

ditto, I was around 10 too

except, had them on my knee, my parents didn't think was serious, never took me to doc, till it got to be about 3" in diameter, they didn't spread which was amazing... finally they took me to a derm, who froze them off, didn't hurt at all, but grew back, froze a second time and gone forever ... but I have a tiny bit of skin discoloration in the area

So take care of it ASAP! Chat Icon

I would try compound w first with a band aid over it. My ds has had a few and it works
