Adventureland bday party ?

I was just looking on their website and it was about 20 a child...I think that's a really great price b/c it didn't seem to make a difference if it was a weekend or weekday. Am i right? Anyone ever have a bday party there? Thanks!

Re: Adventureland bday party ?

We have been there twice for birthday parties. DS likes the rides so it was a hit for us. But the kids don't hang with each other til the they get to the room to eat and the hostess takes all the bracelets off, so you cant ride after the party. Also if you have a young child (under six or so) I would buy a band for one adult for each child. DS was just 2 the last time we went, but DH was given a band so he could go on with DS.

I've been to alot of parties there. As much as my boys LOVE the rides & LOVE Adventureland-- I always feel that it's not the best place for a party. You don't get to stay all together with all the guests when there is a party. You get the bracelets as soon as you get there and then everyone runs free until you hear the party's name on the loud speaker to report to the party room. We have been to several parties where we haven't even seen the birthday child until the party room!
JMO--- but I'd feel bad not being able to interact with my guests until the last half hour, when I'm paying $20 pp and I don't even get to see all the kids enjoy.

ETA- as PP pointed out, on several occasions Dh and i had to buy our own tickets out of our own pockets to accompany the kids on a few of the rides which is not included in the party.

Re: Adventureland bday party ?

We had my DD's 3rd birthday there. We opted to have the lunch and cake first and then an hour of riding. It was nice for everyone to gather together and they had a lot of food choices and then we gave out bracelets to all children and parents that wanted to ride. I think some of the parents had a better time on the rides than the kids. It was a riot.

It worked well for us because we had a wide range of ages 11- 1 1/2. Everyone was able to have fun and go on the rides of their choice. We also had it in the beginning of April when the park was practically empty which was nice. Most of the party stayed with my DD while on the rides which was fun. You can opt to hire someone to lead the party around the park as well if you wanted everyone to stay together.

It was really inexpensive and we loved it. I bet my DD is going to want to have it back there again next year.
