Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
DH and I know we want to go to Shinn, which we LOVED, plus about 3 more.
We also need a recommendation for a semi-nice restaurant for dinner .
Any recommendations?

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
There is the Lobster Roll. There can be a wait though.
A really nice place is Jedidiah Hawkins Inn. Not if you have the kids though.
We ate at the Cooperidge recently and it was pretty good.
As far as the drinking... I love Palmer. LIV (long island vodka is good because it is interesting. Ask for a tour) Pugliese is great. They have a lot of sparkling wines and the bottles are handpainted and so pretty. All three are on Sound Ave.

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
We just went to Jamesport. Very nice winery with BBQ, cheese plate and had their sauvingon blanc...bought a bottle.
They had live music too which was nice hanging out on the lawn.

We went there a while back and then my friend went last week (an SHS alum) and she met Keith Hernandez there.
It's really yummy and great for a sans-kids date!

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
My husband surprised me last week with a trip out east. We went to a fantstic restaurant in Riverhead.
It was called The Riverhead Prject. We went for brunch. It was absolutely amazing. it is located across the street from the aquarium in the old Chase bank... I can just imagine how there dinner is...
We then went to Clovis Vineyards. My DH had bought the groupon which got us tastings of all there red and white wines. 3 white and 5 red, you then got to pick the one that is your favorite and you get a glass and then it came with a cheese platter andyou breing home to wine glasses.. The winery was so pretty and you were allowed to walk right up to the vines with the grapes... We enjoyed it.
We then went to the outlets...
greeat day
We ended up towards home at Philippe for dinner. I was so looking forward to dinner there with all the hype from my friends and i was not impressed...
Happy planning!!!

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
I gave you all my recommendations the other day! Unfortunately, I don't know any restaurants in the area. I've always brought food or bought apps at the wineries.
wish I could join you! have a great time!!

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
For dinner, I would suggest "The Cooperage Inn" in Baiting Hollow. It is my FAV east end dining establishment. http://cooperageinn.com/
As for wineries, I suggest taking Sound Avenue straight out. There are so many on that road alone.
Enjoy!

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
Can't help with the wineries, but DH and I just had the MOST fantastic dinner at Farmhouse in Greenport. It was one of the best meals I've ever had.

We lovvvvvvvvvved the Sherwood House. There are 2 locations, its the one thats right by Paumanok. Its like a hop up the road from there on the right. BEST place i've eaten out there-North Fork Inn and Table. Amazing!!!!!!!

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
I'm not sure about restaurants, but some great wineries are Raphael (my absolute favorite), Palmer, Sherwood House, Osprey's Dominion, and Sparkling Point (if you like sparkling whites!)

Re: Help planning trip to wineries on Saturday
I don't have any place to recommend for dinner. We were just at the wineries last Sunday, and usually go a couple of times a year.
My favorites are Baiting Hollow, Sherwood House, Pindar (and right now they have a field of sunflowers..we picked our own!), Duck Walk, Macari, Peconic Bay and Osprey's Dominion. I think DH and I have tasted at most of them at this point!
