medium flow nipples...when to switch?

DD is 6 weeks and is a very lazy eater...would the faster nipple keep her more alert?

I have no idea when to switch! Is it based on age or how they're eating?

I use Playtex drop ins if that makes any difference

No clue, I actually never switched with DS. Every time I tried, he gagged and it spilled all over. May give it a try with DD soon (she is 4 months) I think you just try it and see if it works for you/them.

DS is also six weeks and we switched him because you could hear how hard he was sucking and he slowed down a ton while eating. He does much better with the level 2. I remember switching my other son really early on.

we swtiched DS at 2 months because he wasn't getting it fast enough... it was taking forever to drink a few ounces and he was getting frustrated physically and emotionally

I actually have the same question. DD is also a very lazy eater and she ALWAYS falls asleep. I know she can eat more but since she falls asleep, she never makes it to the end. She's almost 7 weeks old and I just switched her to level 2 dr. brown nipples. I'm not sure what the flow rate is considered but Dr. brown has 4 levels plus a preemie level.
Just make sure that milk isn't dripping all over your LO's chin or choking, if it does, it means it's too fast.

if she's falling asleep on the bottle or taking more than 20 min to finish, switch to faster nipple, IMO.
