spinoff to starting nursery...when do you start everything else?
I'm only 14 wks but starting to feel like i need to get moving with organizing myself! when do you start looking for furniture, registering, looking for daycare (if you need it)?? i don't even know what else i could be forgetting!

i started registering and planning my shower around 16 weeks, haven't done much else yet other than read some books (I'm 26 weeks).

First thing I did was get the Baby Bargains book and read through it. At around 22 weeks DH and I went out and bought the Furniture and painted about a week after that. I registered at the beginning of this month, as my shower will be at the end of August. I didnt' want to register too far in advance in case things were discontinued, etc.

I registered at 21 weeks, after we found out the gender. It was also after we had the anatomy scan and saw that everything was okay with baby - I don't know, I was feeling too superstitious to contemplate buying anything for her before that.
As for setting up the nursery, choosing a ped, packing my hospital bag... still haven't done any of that and I'm 36w tomorrow!

I started looking into daycare in March and I needed it for December. In March the place I liked was waitl isted for September starts and earlier so you should start looking soon. I ended up going with PT in-home care.
I also order my furniture from Behrs in March and it arrived in early July.

what is the baby bargains book?? can you get it at any bookstore?

I registered at 23 weeks and I am now in the process of figuring out what color to paint the nursery and what furniture to buy. Also have to look into picking a peditrician and wheter or not we will be doing cord blood banking.

The first thing we did was order the furniture at about 18 weeks, before we knew the sex, because the order timeline is 14 weeks approx.
I only did my registry last week at 25 weeks but my shower isn't for another 6 weeks and I have been working on childcare for a while but have nothing finalized yet.
