BTDT moms of 2 under 2...furniture ?

Did you buy a whole new set of nursery furniture for baby #2?

DS's crib turns into a toddler bed and then a full size bed so he'll be using it. I'm wondering if I should just buy only a crib for DC#2 since I'll already have the changing table from DS.

Also, since I still use the changing table for DS, do I just leave it in his room or move it to DC#2's room?

I feel like these are such stupid questions Chat Icon

my girls are 13 months apart so DD # 1 is still in her crib and will be for a while, DD#2 is still in our room in the bassinet since she is 2 months old. We are buying her a crib like DD has and what we did as far as the changing table is we bought a new changing pad and put it ontop of our dresser for now since she is in our room and not inn DD's yet. Once they are in the same room I will just use the one changing table.

Borrowed my Sil's crib and kept the nursery the way it was...so my DD who was 17 mo old moved to the borrowed crib for about 4-6 months before we bought her a toddler bed at 23 mo...

Kept the changing table in nursery and just went in that room to change both kids' diapers

DS was 21mths when DD was born. We bought a complete set for her, since DS furniture becomes a bed, etc. So both of their sets become adult furniture. ALthough DD was much cheaper...second child LOL!

We didn't want to buy another crib, so we just bought DS#1 his own big boy furniture. We went straight to a twin bed and he isdoing great with it. He is 20 months old.

My boys were suppose to be 12 months apart but ended up being 10.5 months. My oldest was no where near ready for his crib to be transitioned into a toddler bed so we bought the same exact set for my youngest.

No, I refused to buy any baby furniture for my second. We moved DS to a big boy room (full bed and all) and gave his crib to DD. However, the transition didn't happen right away. Around when DS turned 2, he asked to sleep in a regular bed. That's when the furniture swap happened. Until then, DD used the PNP or co-slept with me.

We didn't buy a new nursery set, but we were fortunate to borrow a bassinet in the beginning and then a full-sized crib until older DS was sleeping in his big boy bed.

Re: BTDT moms of 2 under 2...furniture ?

We purchased a nice Munire set for DS when he was born. It is a convertible crib that will transition to a full size bed in the future. HE will be 19/20 months when his sister is born. He loves the crib and I foresee him sleeping there for a while.

We actually just bought DD her own set yesterday. It has the same pieces as DS along with a convertible crib (just a different style). My hopes is this furniture is an investiment that will last them for years down the line as they grow up.

Re: BTDT moms of 2 under 2...furniture ?

We bought ds#2 all new furniture because ds#1 crib turned into a toddler bed and his changing table is an attachment on his dresser so we removed that too so ds#2 we bought a new crib and dresser with the changing table attachment on top and armoire.
