BTDT - Maternity/Newborn photo shoot
Hello Ladies - I need some clarification - I have been checking some of the vendors here that do these sessions and their site tells you your "investment" -
From what I read - the initial fee is for the photographer's time. They edit 25-35 pictures that you are allowed to see but not print? If you want access to them to print - either you pay them to print or pay a fee to have access to them?
And none of them give you the unedited pictures?
So if I want to do this then I can count on spending at least $375 with some pictures? Am I right?
Is there anyone out there that will do the session and give you your pictures edited and unedited or at least just the edited pictures on a cd for less than $350?

Re: BTDT - Maternity/Newborn photo shoot
We bought a package with our session. I think we started out with about 8 pictures that we had the rights to print in any size we wanted, plus a big like 16x16 ( something like that) that the photographer printed out for us. Of course once we saw the proofs we wanted more and we ended up paying around $700 for the picture rights, a brag book of all the pics and the CD. It can get pricey, but IMO it was so worth it. To us, those pictures are priceless.

Yes, the $375 is pretty much the lowest price I found for a session, edited photos, and then getting all the photos on a CD.

I emailed photographers and asked for the price for a CD with the rights to print. I decided on Anne Hack.

Every photographer is different in what you get and the fees. You really need to get pricing list from anyone you are interested in to see what their packages entail.
We used Michelle McFadden and loved her. She has a package that is inclusive of all the images from your session with a print release that allows you to do whatever you want with them.

Re: BTDT - Maternity/Newborn photo shoot
I recommend Kelly from All Seasons Photography. I used her for my newborn shoot and my DH and I loved her photos. She provided us with a cd with all the photos unedited and even edited a few of her favorites. She is very affordable and will work with you on what you want.
You can check out her facebook page and it's my daughter as her photo on the main page.
She took photos of my daughter as well as some family shots (waist up at my request) and some candids with my dog and daughter. I shared with her that I love the color lilac and butterflies, so she incorporated this into the shoot.
Here are some shots from the photo shoot. If you have any questions, feel free to FM me.
Another note: she travelled to me for the photoshoot.

Re: BTDT - Maternity/Newborn photo shoot
There are.
What I did was I searched the pregnancy board for any and every thread about a newborn photo shoot. I then emailed each photographer listed. I asked them about their packages and told them what I was interested in having (for me it was the high res printable CD). They responded. I found some to be higher than some girls stated on the threads (perhaps prices and packages changed) so it was good that I contacted so many photog's myself.
I booked 2 newborn photoshoots. One is a little higher than your range. But the other one fits right in. I booked Amy Jocelyn for the newborn shoot for my brother. She was $250 at the time and it included an edited CD of the images. (I think 35 images).
so you can def find them... just contact a bunch of photog's and see which works best for your needs.
