Will this raise my taxes?

We want to put a ductless air unit in the attic of our house. In the room count, this was advertised as a "bonus room" THough it was finished, it is the Sahara in the summer, arctic in winter-not usuable due to temperature. Now that we want to use it and add a ductless unit, I've read that this will increase taxes. Is that true? We don't plan to sell anytime soon. If we do sell though, what do I do to make this part of my room count. I am assuming my taxes will rise. tia for your input

I don't think so, it's an attic with Sheetrock. I would call the town to inquire

Central a/c will increase your taxes in some towns.

I'm not sure if ductless will or if the Town would even know you had it if there is no condensor outside.

Ductless I have requires a condenser outside.

yes there would be a condensor outside

If there is a condensor outside, you may get "caught" like people do with pools without permits (the towns sometimes do aerial photos, etc).

what town are you located in?
