Goody Bags - 5 year olds - mostly girls

I'm having my DD's bday on Sat and still have to put together the goody bags

Any suggestions? Where to shop? what to put in it? I don't want to put all those junky little toys or too much candy. But I have no idea what else to do.

we just had DD's party the other weekend. she wanted a "rainbow theme", i wanted something that could be useful so...

my mother decorated clear pencil boxes from staples, customized with each kid's name. inside we put one bag of skittles or rainbow twizzlers, a rainbow lollipop, a ring and bracelet for the girls (a bouncy ball for the boys), 2 pencils, a pencil sharpener, a couple tatoos and a whistle.

i figured if they like the box, it could be used for kindergarten next year and/or just around the house to store the million pencils/crayons/markers we all have!

Nor sure if you are interested but I do goodie bags for little girls at my store (Darlings & Divas), they are $5 each.

For 5 year olds I would put in a big flower hair clip (the big gerber daisy ones) a gem ring, and a big ice cream sundae lip gloss.

(retail value of $7 if purchase separately).

these are individually packaged in little pink bags w/ ribbon.

Those sound so cute - too bad I waited til the last minute. I'll have to remember that for next time.

I wound up at Star Tracks in Farmingdale and Party City and just got some of the regular old stuff.
Have to think about this more in advance next time. I'm so not creative!
