Has anyone put insulation in existing walls?
Our second floor is not insulated (or if it is, it must have disentegrated or something) and we need to get some type of insulation put in without wrecking the walls (we plan to dormer in a few years). We have a cape, so there's no attic. Anyone deal with a similar situation and what did you use?
Thanks!

you can have new insulation put into the eaves of the house. my friends used major homes.

you can usually have small holes put in the walls and have them use blown in, its not cheap to go that route though and you will still have some patch work needed. otherwise there is no other way without opening the walls if there is no attic above

we had the same situation... we bought an old house and it had ZERO insulation. we ended up tearing all the walls down and updating the electric at the same time. like a pp said, you can have stuff blown in but you will still need to make a few holes in the walls and it's much more expensive

Re: Has anyone put insulation in existing walls?
I had insulation put in my attic and eaves throughout the house (where we were losing heat) ..They blew it in and it was not expensive. It cost us 1200 for it and we definetly felt a difference in the winter. If u want the info of the companay we used fm. He was great and they did an awesome job :)
