New here and so scared

Hello girls...this is such a terrifying process.
I recently got married and we got pregnant on the first try. Unfortunately, it resulted in a miscarriage. Wevstarted trying again and after 3 mths decided to see an Re. I really thought I was being silly and that he would say everything is fine. Yesterday I had an hsg and I have one blocked tube and the other is partially blocked. He wants to do a lap. I have never felt so sick in my life. How could I have gotten pregnant and now have blocked tubes? I am so scared of the procedure not to mention I can't take any more days off of work. I am so scared that I will never have a baby. I also feel horrible for my husband.

Thank you girls for giving me a place to vent.

i dont have any exp with blocked tubes but wanted to wish you a short stay on the boards. the ladies here are wonderful!
even though i am not ttcing i still come back on the IF boards.

if u feel ur dr is rushing u or u dont feel comfortable u can always go for a second opinion. i went for 3 consults with 3 different RE's b4 i was comfortable with the one i picked.

It can def. be very terryfying when you begin to enter the road of infertility. I also know the shock and confusion when you get preg. when you have an issue (blocked tubes). I am in simialr situtaion. Long story short, DH has 0% morphology we were told you have very little chance of getting preg. go straight to IVF. I am currently 15 weeks preg. no IVF, no nothing. Just gold old fashioned bd. Don't give up hope!!! It can happen again. You have landed in the right place. The ladies on here are AMAZING and sooooooo knowledgable that you will never feel alone on this journey!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't jump at the surgery and would certainly seek a 2nd opinion. Three months of TTC is not a long time and you got pregnant easily the first time.

Just be careful about your tubes, you are likely at a higher risk for an ectopic pregnancy.

Re: New here and so scared

It is sooooo normal to be scared, it's overwhelming to find out you may have issues doing what we are told our bodies were created to do. This board is a wonderful resource and support system.

I don't think they would need to do another HSG, you cn probably get a copy of the results. If you can get the results in your own hands you can bring them to any appointments you have for consultations ets. I did this with MRI results in the past for a different situation

I had a blocked tube but was very lucky that during the HSG they were able to open it. I'd definitely get a 2nd opinion before having tubal surgery.

Good luck to you!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the support. I do like my doctor, so how do I get a second opinion without offending him?
