Hardwood floor question? Regarding Stains with PICS for help
Those who gave us the recommendation for Gold Star Floors, Thanks!!! I have spoken to them a few times and they will give us an exact estimate this week.
We are in contract on our home, and hopefully can start work on Paint/floors towards the end of June.
So I am going to have the entire house sanded, stain and refinished.
I always wanted dark wood floors, so I am going to prob have them stained them a dark wood color. Like a dark walnut.
Here are pictures to help you get an idea.
First 2 pictures are different examples of the colors I want the floors to look like....( somewhere in btwn those two colors)
The 3rd, and 4th picture are of the actual house. So my question is, If I stain the floors all a dark walnut.... Will it look bad against the light color cabinets in the kitchen. Or will the contrast actually look nice?? Also, I plan to update that kitchen in like 3-5 yrs and redo it completely over to White Cabinerts....Which evetually will look great with the dark wood floors.
But until then, Will the darks floors look nice in that kitchen???? Or should I not base it on the kitchen and do what I want for the entire house...( since evetually that kitchen will be replaced?)
Those who do have dark wood floors and pet, how are they for maintenance. The floor guys said you just put an extra coat of polyurethane?

THANK YOU!!! I am so bad at that stuff....that is great that you can do that!!!
So should I get other pices to bring the dark wood floor in somehow with accent pieces of darker wood, like side table, hutch etc?? Like the kitchen table darker or leave the one there in the picture. They are actually giving us that table for free, so I would hate to not use it...and spend the money elsewhere.
You good with wallpaper? I am posting another post about my guestroom. I need some help!

i think the dark counter tops and cabinet hardware are enough to bring in the darkness of the floor...have no experience with wallpaper but will check out the other post

Off topic, but you mentioned wanting to redo the cabinets in a few years to white cabinets. The ones you have now look like they are in great condition. Could you just have them painted white and change the hardware.
